What Is a Green Card, and Why Do You Need One?
A green card, officially known as a Permanent Resident Card, grants foreign nationals the ability to live and work permanently in the United States. Green card holders can travel freely, eventually apply for U.S. citizenship, and enjoy the security of permanent legal status — no more visa renewals or employment restrictions.
But getting a green card isn't just about paperwork. It's about building your future on solid ground, whether that future is centered on your career, your family, or your self-development.

Frequently Asked Questions About Green Cards
How long will my green card case take?
The timeline depends on your specific category and circumstances. Marriage cases typically resolve within eight to 12 months through adjustment of status. Employment cases vary drastically: EB-1 cases often process in four to 15 months, while EB-2/EB-3 cases with PERM can take anywhere from one to five years. EB-5 investment cases may take 12–36 months. Keep in mind that these are just general estimates. We'll give you a more realistic idea of what to expect during your initial consultation.
Can I work while my case is pending?
For most adjustment-of-status cases, yes. Marriage-based applicants can get work permits within three to five months. Employment-based applicants often already have work authorization through their temporary status. EB-5 investors receive work authorization with their I-526 and adjustment-of-status approval.
What if my green card case gets denied?
A denial isn’t the end of the road. Depending on the reason, we can appeal the decision, file motions to reconsider, or explore alternative strategies. Our detailed preparation helps prevent problems before they occur, and our experience allows us to overcome challenges when they arise.
How much will the process cost?
Legal fees vary based on case complexity and category. Employment cases requiring PERM certification typically cost more than marriage cases, and EB-5 investment cases involve both investment capital and legal fees. We offer transparent pricing and payment plans up to six months, and most clients find that professional representation saves them money by preventing costly mistakes.
Can my family get green cards, too?
Yes! Spouses and unmarried children under 21 can typically apply as derivatives in family and employment cases. Family-based cases frequently include multiple beneficiaries. We’ll make sure your entire family is protected throughout the process.
